Desert

Telemarketers leave you high and dry in a desert of dead prospects. That's why at The Prospector's Group, this isn't your ol' telemarketing.

One of the hardest aspects of our business is convincing a prospective client that we're not a telemarketing company. We realize that many people still don't understand the difference between true sales prospecting and most telemarketing services available today. We hope the following two examples illustrate why, as a sales prospecting firm, we have only one thing in common with a telemarketing service bureau - we use the telephone as a medium with which to work.

Telemarketing is very script oriented

The Prospector's Group realizes that every client is different, and therefore it is extremely important to reflect the individuality of our clients. We also know that every member of our staff is unique. Since no two people use exactly the same words in the same order, we encourage our staff to use the style that's comfortable for the market and region we are calling. We know that talking to a suspect in midtown Manhattan requires a different conversational style and approach than talking to a suspect in Manhattan, Kansas.

Most importantly, we listen!

If we are communicating with a suspect who wants to converse, we carry on a more personable conversation. If we reach a person who is all business, we don't waste energy with small talk. Our bottom line is reflecting the professionalism of our clients.

Many Telemarketers are paid on incentive

A typical telemarketer gets paid on a "per lead" basis. Therefore constant pressure exists to get an appointment. In some cases, appointments are created where no real opportunity exists. The Prospector's Group pays its staff on a salaried or hourly wage basis. Our marketers are not pressured to "get you in the door" for their compensation. Therefore, if we feel that an opportunity may not be in the best interest of your company, our prospectors will hold back and ask more questions to disqualify this suspect. (Remember that "NO" is the second best response to hear in sales.) If we believe there is more technical input required, we may set a telephone appointment or confer with your office. We always want to find out if there is a good reason to get you and a prospect together. For you, the client, this will make all the difference in time, energy and a lack of frustration.
